The study investigated the effects of olfactory stimulation on gastric motility using electrogastrography (EGG) and subjective sensory evaluation with vanilla odor at two concentrations. Spectral analysis showed no significant differences in EGG signals, but the translation error and perceived odor intensity increased with concentration. A strong positive correlation between translation error and odor intensity was found, indicating that higher perceived vanilla odor intensity increased the randomness of the EGG signals. These results suggest that the Wayland algorithm can be used as an objective indicator in odor evaluation.
